Medford getting a new IHOP in place of former Ruby Tuesday’s

|

Goodbye Ruby Tuesday, IHOP will hang its name on you.

IHOP will open what could be its 20th Long Island location at the site of the former Ruby Tuesday’s in Medford.

The classic American restaurant chain’s 5,800-square-foot location in Sunshine Square closed amid the pandemic in 2020 after 14 years in business. Now, customers will be able to order up pancakes and omelets at 700 E. Patchogue Yaphank Road.

The International House of Pancakes has expanded across Long Island in recent years, with 19 locations now operating in Suffolk and Nassau counties. Four of the island’s IHOP locations opened in the past five years, according to Newsday.

There is another IHOP in the works for Syosset, which Newsday recently reported has been delayed until next year.

IHOP franchisees run more than 1,750 eateries around the globe. California-based Brands Global Inc. owns the IHOP brand, as well as that of Applebee’s.
