Milky Ways Ice Cream and Cereal Bar closes in Rocky Point

That was fast.

Less than a year after enthusiastically opening shop inside the Kohl’s shopping plaza in Rocky Point, Milky Ways Ice Cream & Cereal Bar has dished out its last Trix cone.

The desert destination is now closed and empty. And it’s not clear what will replace it.

Milky Ways opened in Rocky Point last May. And success at the treats place figured to be a shoe-in, what with its location being just up the road from Rocky Point High School.

At the time, it was the third Milky Ways on Long Island. Two other locations were — and seemingly still are — thriving, in Coram and Huntington.

Another Milky Ways has since opened in Hauppauge.
