Missing elderly Blue Point dog and his family need your help — and fast

|

Alex, an adorable elderly dog who went missing from his Blue Point home on Wednesday, remains at large, according to a heartfelt Facebook post this evening by Peace Love Rescue New York, Inc.

And with the impending snowstorm, time is of the essence.

“Please help us find Alex, the Beagle! He has been missing from Blue Point Since 1/5/2022,” reads the nonprofit outfit’s post.

The 14-year-old pooch was last seen on Arthur Avenue in Blue Point. He was wearing a blue collar with tags, and he is microchipped, the post says. Followers of the page are doing their part — the post has been shared at least 30 times.

“He is very human and dog friendly,” the post reads further.

If you see Alex, call 516.317.7065.

“Please share the post to get the word out before the storm!” the post concludes.

Weather forecasters predict snow will hit the Blue Point area about 2 a.m. on Friday and dump three to six inches before the snowfall tapers off about noon. Temperatures will be in the low 30s.

Peace Love Rescue New York, Inc., strives to help the needy animals located in communities throughout New York, by providing food, basic veterinary care, supplies, and education to pet owners, according its website.
