Each year, the Long Island Beauty Ball for Cancer Care hosted by the Mondays at Racine Foundation attracts nearly a thousand attendees and raises hundreds of thousand of dollars.
The Racine ladies are at it again, for a fourth consecutive year.
The 2018 Beauty Ball is set for Oct. 29 at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury from 6-10 p.m.

The night features interactive experiences, entertainment and education to raise awareness about cancer care in New York. (See video above from the 2016 event.)
The Mondays at Racine Cancer Care Foundation was jumpstarted by the 2013 Oscar-nominated HBO documentary Mondays at Racine.

The foundation was founded by Cynthia Sansone and Rachel DeMolfetto.
The sisters had already been inviting women undergoing cancer treatment to their Racine Salon in Islip for a decade on Mondays — when the salon is closed — so they could have the place to themselves. And then HBO came knocking. (See trailer below.)
Hair salons, spas and wellness centers across Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester have since partnered with the Mondays program to offer salon care for cancer patients on Mondays or other nights.
Proceeds from the event enable Mondays at Racine to continue to maintain and grow their Charter Salon program, reads an event announcement, “all in support of the overall mission to reduce the physical, emotional and cosmetic side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.”
Tickets start at $150 each, or $100 for fighters and survivors.
