Lindenhurst’s Ruckert makes spectacular one-hand TD grab in comeback win in Big Ten Championship game

|

It could down as the grab of the year in college football this season — for its mean and athleticism.

Down 21-7, Ohio State and Lindenhurst’s Jeremy Ruckert recorded a sensational one-handed touchdown catch in a comeback win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship game on Saturday. Watch video above.

“We run through it a lot in practice, stayed after a couple times to make sure I got the route right,” Ruckert told reporters following the game. “Coach Day really harped on running the route right. It was a good throw and we just executed.”

The score propelled the Buckeyes to a 34-21 win over the Badgers, who were quarterbacked by Sayville’s Jack Coan.

This was the third consecutive Big Ten Championship for Ohio State (13-0), who will now be preparing for the upcoming National College Football playoffs.

The College Football Playoff selection committee will pick the rest of the four-team playoffs on Sunday, Dec. 8.
