A steady snowfall overnight into Sunday left Long Island blanketed in several inches of snow, with many communities reporting between 6 and 7 inches by late morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow totals reported to the NWS show a tight cluster across both counties, suggesting a broadly consistent storm rather than isolated heavy bands. Levittown led reported totals at 7.2 inches, while multiple locations in Suffolk County — including North Patchogue, Center Moriches, and Remsenburg-Speonk — each reported 7 inches.
Several Nassau communities also saw significant accumulation.
Bethpage reported 7 inches, while Elmont came in just under that mark at 6.9 inches. Sea Cliff reported 6.5 inches, and totals in South Massapequa, Plainview, and Bellmore generally ranged between 5 and 6 inches.

In Suffolk County, snowfall totals were similarly widespread.
Reports from Mount Sinai, Islip, Shirley, Stony Brook, and Miller Place largely fell between 5.5 and 6 inches, with eastern communities such as Jamesport reporting slightly lower totals closer to 4 inches.
Based on available reports, average snowfall totals in Nassau County edged slightly higher than Suffolk County, though the difference was modest — reinforcing the storm’s even coverage across the region.
The National Weather Service cautioned that snow-covered and slippery road conditions were likely to persist through Sunday, particularly as temperatures remain at or below freezing.
Forecasters said the accumulated snow is expected to linger for several days, with temperatures not projected to rise above freezing until Wednesday.
Residents were urged to use caution while traveling and to check local Department of Transportation updates for road conditions.
