Long Island is getting its first taste of Toastique.
The fast-growing national café brand officially opens Saturday, Feb. 28, in Woodbury, bringing its colorful gourmet toasts and smoothie bowls to Jericho Turnpike.
Franchisees Chris and Andrea Pedersen say their goal is simple: offer healthy, flavorful options in a welcoming setting.
“My husband was incredibly passionate about finding something that was good and good for you,” said Andrea. “We’ve always tried to lead healthy lifestyles.”
Chris added, “When I first saw this place, I loved the diversity of the menu. It has something for everyone, even kids.”
Toastique, founded by former collegiate athlete Brianna Keefe, currently operates over 200 stores nationwide.
Toastique’s menu features gourmet open-faced toasts, açaí bowls, cold-pressed juices, protein smoothies, wellness shots and specialty coffee drinks.

“We offer healthy, but you absolutely do not need to be a health nut to eat here,” Andrea told Greater Long Island. “And there’s nothing like this in this community.”
Savory toast options range from tomato burrata with balsamic glaze to spicy crab, with spicy ahi tuna set to debut this spring. For those craving something sweeter, the PB Crunch features fresh fruit, homemade jam, granola and peanuts.
“My personal favorite might be the traditional avocado toast because ours is elevated,” she said. “I add a hard boiled egg and I could literally eat it every single day.”
Chris says the café’s cold-pressed juices are another highlight, made fresh in-house with no added sugar or chemicals. The juices are also incorporated into Toastique’s açaí bowls and smoothies.
“You would think you are indulging yourself, but everything is actually good for you and is fresh,” said Chris.
Toastique takes over the former home of Dugan’s Sandwich Shop, a longtime community staple that closed its Woodbury location in 2024 before relocating to Plainview.
“I had a gentleman come in the other day, we weren’t even opened yet, and he said, ‘You have some big shoes to fill in this spot.’ And I said, ‘I know, I know. I know how important Dugan’s was to this area,’” said Andrea.
The Pedersens say community involvement is central to their mission.
“Chris and I are high believers in giving back. Any active or retired service men and women will always get 15% off the menu. Our oldest son is in the Army, stationed in Italy right now, so we understand just how important that is,” said Andrea. “Police and firefighters also get a 15% discount. It’s our way of thanking the community.”

Toastique is located at 8027 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury and is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
