Netflix hit show ‘You’ seen filming in popular Long Beach diner

|

One of Joe Goldberg’s next victims may just be in Long Beach.

Penn Badgley, who plays the serial killer/obsessive stalker in the hit Netflix show “You,” was seen in the South Shore city last month with a film crew while shooting the fifth and final season of the series.

They spent a large portion of May 22 capturing scenes at the 92-year-old Laurel Diner, located at 300 W. Park Ave.

“The crew was here the entire day,” said Laurel Diner co-owner Andrew Loucas, who runs the iconic establishment with his brother Peter.

He told Newsday that filming began around 7 a.m. — and while he’s unsure if the setting will be Long Beach, there’s a possibility the Laurel Diner can be seen in the upcoming season.

“They kept our sign up,” Andrew said. “They asked our permission to include the logo, and we had to sign off on it.”

In addition to the diner, Andrew mentioned the “You” crew also filmed at a house in nearby Point Lookout.

Filming for the final season officially began on March 25. The season is expected to premiere later in 2024, according to People.
