Danke je, Clyde!
Clyde Carver — an American living and working in the Netherlands — visited with students in a Connecting Cultures class at Sayville High School during a Google Meet this month.
“Who says we can’t travel in a pandemic?” Connecting Cultures teacher Julia Sergison said. “Clyde … stopped by to tell our students a little more about daily life, opportunity and culture.”
To prep for Carver’s visit, the class watched videos on Carver’s TikTok account. Carver uses the medium to share what he’s learning about Dutch culture, phrases and idioms. His account videos, @cl_audio, have more than 4.5 million likes.
“The students were so excited to meet someone who finds success in his spare time on one of their favorite platforms,” Sergison said.
“In addition to some social media tips, Clyde inspired the students to travel, make connections and be brave and confident in their future plans.”
