Cohen Children’s Northwell Health Physician Partners General Pediatrics has just opened a West Islip outpost.
Northwell held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 187 Sunrise Highway on Monday.
The center began seeing patients in late July.
“The team at Cohen Children’s general pediatrics at West Islip is excited to become a part of Northwell Health,” said Dr. Timothy George. “It is our mission to build a practice that can serve our community for many years to come by providing expanded access to pediatric healthcare while maintaining an intimate relationship with the families we serve.”
The $2.3 million dollar renovation created a 5,000 square foot space with 10 exam rooms, private and shared medical offices, and a point-of-care testing laboratory.
Inside the newly renovated facility, there is space designated for well visits and a separate waiting area for those feeling ill, Northwell officials said. In addition to Dr. George, the office is home to Dr. Dayana Del Cisne Sanchez, MD and nurse practitioner Jemmie Dorfman, all specializing in general pediatric care.
