Nicky’s on the Bay, a beloved waterfront dining destination in Bay Shore, is set to reopen on May 15.

The news comes as a pleasant surprise to fans of the restaurant who were saddened by the announcement last year that owner Nick Parini was planning to sell the location.

Many regular customers had bid farewell to Nicky’s on the Bay last October, during a customer appreciation day that included a 50 percent off sale on all food and drinks. The day was a final farewell and a thank you to all the loyal customers who have supported Nicky’s on the Bay over the years.

Despite the announcement of the impending sale, Parini is still the current owner but is still actively seeking a buyer. Therefore, Nicky’s on the Bay is reopening under the same ownership as before, to the delight of many of its customers.

This was confirmed by a Facebook comment from the official Nicky’s on the Bay that read: “Nicky’s has not been sold. Nick announced his intention to sell last fall, and those efforts are ongoing.”

Nicky’s on the Bay is known for its spectacular views of the Great South Bay, rooftop dining, and an array of seafood. It has been a go-to destination for waterfront dining on Long Island for almost two decades.
