NoaMar Markets celebrates 1-year in Babylon Village with ribbon cutting

|

It has been one year since NoaMar Markets began serving up fresh tapas and offering imported Spanish products in Babylon Village.

And, on Friday, the Spanish market celebrated its time in the village with ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“It has been a wonderful year,” said NoaMar co-owner Frances Beiro, who opened the European-style marketplace with her husband, Heri. “I think it has been very well received, and we can’t wait to bring more wonderful events to the town.”

At the ceremony, which was in front of the store, located at 238 Deer Park Avenue, members of local government and chamber of commerce joined in on the celebration.

“You guys have been a great addition to the village, something different for all of us,” said Kelly Peckholdt, head of the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce. “A little Spanish adventure every time we come to eat.”

Babylon Village mayor, Ralph Scordino, felt the same.

“It is a great place, and better yet, [the Beiros are]  Babylon Village residents,” he said. “Let’s have an another great year or better.”

In addition to the ribbon cutting, NoaMar Markets will be hosting a one-year anniversary party on July 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. During that time, there will be complimentary appetizers. The gourmet Spanish bistro will also be raising money to benefit Parkinson’s disease related nonprofits.

“It is a cause that is really close to my heart,” said Frances, whose father, Perfecto, suffers from the illness.

And the fundraising won’t stop there, added Frances.

“Every year, during our anniversary, we will choose a charity to benefit,” she said.
