Community tradition was on full display Saturday in North Babylon as the high school celebrated homecoming with a full slate of festivities — capped by a 53-43 football victory over Commack.
The celebration began with a parade from Phelps Lane Park to the high school, where the marching band and color guard led the way with lively performances.
Along the route, cheerleaders and the kickline team energized the crowd as students, teachers, administrators and members of community organizations marched, waving banners and glowing with Bulldog pride.
On the field, the Bulldogs treated fans to a high-octane gridiron showcase, surging ahead 43-21 by the end of the third quarter before fending off a late Commack rally to win 53-43.
Halftime featured routines from the marching band, varsity cheerleaders and kickline team. The celebration carried into the evening, when students closed out the day with the annual homecoming dance.
