North Babylon’s Griffith breaks Long Island rushing record

|

Records are meant to be broken. Just ask Nathaniel Griffith.

The senior running back from North Babylon High School ran all over Smithtown West last Saturday, shattering Long Island’s single-game rushing along the way.

He carried the rock 38 times, totaling 489 yards with seven touchdowns. His team won 75-49.

The rushing record was previously held by Plainedge quarterback Davien Kuinlan, who put up 485 yards in the 2015 Nassau Conference Final III.

See the tweet below by News 12’s Kevin Maher of Griffith breaking loose for one of his many scores that day.

Griffith’s effort helped his team improve to a 2-2 record. It was also North Babylon head coach James Mango 200th win with the program.
