North Babylon’s nightclub-inspired Some Guy’s Car Wash opening in Patchogue

|

Disco balls, dance music and vibrant LED lights are all things you might not expect to find at a car wash.

But North Babylon area residents have come to learn that’s how folks at Some Guy’s Car Wash gets down on Deer Park Avenue.

And the concept is coming to Patchogue.

“We do a lot of partying,” says Some Guy’s owner Michael Pegalis, who opened up the first location with his wife, Jessica, at 1287 Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon in 2011.

“We have a great clientele in Babylon,” he said. “We won [Bethpage] Best of Long Island three years in a row.”

After six years of steady growth, Some Guy’s Car Wash will soon be helping the people of Patchogue shine even brighter.

“I bought this place strictly because of the village,” said Pegalis, of Bellmore. “It’s awesome.”

On Monday, Aug. 21, Some Guy’s moved into 318 West Main Street, right next to the brand new Mr. D’s Ultimate Fitness.

They will be doing at least two weeks’ worth of renovation in rehabbing the former King of Queen car washing building.

Inside, you’ll be able to watch your car getting cleaned, while sitting in the lounge — or sitting and tapping your feet in the lounge to Rose Royce.

“I think Patchogue is going to love our brand,” Pegalis said.

The concept of bringing fun to car washing all started with a dream of owning a nightclub, Pergalis said. But after having children, running a club didn’t seem like a good fit.

“I got married and had two kids, so it wasn’t going to work,” he said laughing. “So I opened this place and made it into a nightclub.”

The Some Guy’s Patchogue grand opening will likely be in September.

Expect a party.
