Northwell Health is teaming up with the PGA for this year’s championship at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Northwell will be the official healthcare provider for the event that runs May 13-19.

“Health and wellness are key components of the game of golf, and we’re delighted that Northwell Health will serve as the Official Healthcare Provider of the 2019 PGA Championship,” said 2019 PGA Championship Sales and Partnerships Director John Handley.

Northwell, which has 23 hospitals (including Bay Shore’s Southside Hospital) in New York, will be providing medical services for the professional golfers, spectators, and volunteers. To do so, there will be three on-course medical stations staffed with a team of physicians, surgeons, nurses, and athletic trainers.

The Long Island-based healthcare provider is excited to be part of the storied outing.

“Northwell is proud to support the PGA Championship, a world-class sporting event that elevates the stature of Long Island and highlights its abundance of recreational offerings that make it an extraordinary place to live and work,” said Northwell Health President and CEO Michael Dowling.

“As the event’s official healthcare provider, Northwell is pleased to offer its clinical expertise in the areas of emergency medical services, orthopedics, and hospitality, to ensure another successful tournament at Bethpage Black.”
