It’s a girl!
Northwell Health announced today that the health system’s first baby of the New Year was born at Huntington Hospital.
Not-so little Gulbano Khan was born at 12:10 a.m., after his mom, Meryum Ali, endured nearly 10 hours of labor. For Ali and Ashfaq Khan of North Babylon, this is their second child; Gulbano has a big brother waiting for her at home.
The baby girl weighed in at a robust 8 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 21 inches long. Her parents were thrilled to learn their new addition rang in 2025 as the 21-hospital health system’s first baby.
“We are so excited our baby is healthy, but this makes it just a little more special,” Ashfaq Khan said.
With 900 outpatient facilities in addition to its fleet of hospitals, Northwell Health is the state’s largest health care provider and private employer.
