NWS: Long Island areas saw as high as 8 inches of snow

The National Weather Service has released its inch-count totals across Long Island from Tuesday’s snowstorm.

The latest numbers say Stony Brook saw the highest count in Suffolk County, while Glen Cove took the crown in Nassau County.

Stony Brook saw 7 inches of snow. Levittown, 8.1 inches.

The National Weather Service uses a combination of its own readings, affiliate weather observers, trained spotters, and verified reports from the public.
