Get ready Long Island lacrosse fans, because the New York Riptide is bringing back its Cystic Fibrosis Night for the second year in a row at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday, March 18.
The Riptide, Long Island’s new pro indoor lacrosse team, is partnering with the Boomer Esiason Foundation and Westhampton Beach Brewing Co. to raise awareness and resources for the cystic fibrosis community.
The event will start with a pre-game reception inside the Coliseum at the Grand Thornton Lounge at 6 p.m., followed by the game against the Albany Firewolves at 7:30 p.m.
Long Islander and WFAN morning show co-host Boomer Esiason will be making an appearance, and the Riptide will be unveiling custom-made jerseys honoring his Boomer Esiason Foundation. Esiason, an East Islip native and former NFL MVP quarterback, will also participate in the ceremonial ball drop and be a special guest at the pre-game reception.
Auction items provided by the Riptide, Westhampton Beach Brewing Co., and BEF will be available, and proceeds from the tickets and auction will go towards supporting the cystic fibrosis community. The Riptide will be wearing the exclusive, custom-designed BEF jerseys during the game against the Firewolves.
After the game, the jerseys will be signed by Esiason, WFAN Morning Show co-host and fellow Long Islander Gregg Giannotti, as well as by the players. The jerseys will be available for auction on March 22.
The Boomer Esiason Foundation was founded in 1993 by Esiason and his wife Cheryl after their son Gunnar was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. The foundation supports the CF community through patient assistance, advocacy, and research development.
“We are extremely grateful to partner with the Boomer Esiason Foundation to raise awareness for CF with the support of the Westhampton Beach Brewing Co., both of which proudly represent the Long Island community,” said Rich Lisk, general manager and executive vice president of the New York Riptide.
