Oakdale cop stole $200K from fellow officer, spent it on OnlyFans, DA says

Nassau police officer was arrested for allegedly stealing $200,000 from another cop.

Eating out, gambling, a new car and a subscription to OnlyFans.

These are just some of the personal expenses that Nassau County Police Officer Leonard Cagno is accused of funding with $200,000 he allegedly stole from a fellow officer, prosecutors said.

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced the Wednesday arrest of Cagno, 39, of Oakdale, who is charged with second-degree grand larceny after allegedly misusing what was intended to be an investment.

Investigators said Cagno — who also owned a private company, BW Media Consulting, LLC — solicited the money from February to June in 2024 from another Nassau County police officer who was recovering from a serious illness. He allegedly told the victim the funds would be used as an investment in his business.

Instead, prosecutors said, Cagno spent the cash on personal indulgences, including buying a vehicle, paying off credit card debt, making payments toward his home, gambling, dining out and subscribing to the adult-content site OnlyFans.

Records show the entire $200,000 was gone within just two months, authorities said.

“The allegations here represent a shocking abuse of the essential trust that exists between fellow police officers,” Tierney said in a statement. “This defendant is alleged to have preyed upon that trust for his own financial gain, and in so doing, violated one of the most important bonds in law enforcement.”

Cagno was arraigned before Acting County Court Judge Jennifer A. Henry. He pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance because the charge is considered non-bail eligible under current New York state law. He is due back in court Oct. 22.

Prosecutors ask that anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Cagno contact the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office at 631.853.4626.
