Masked bandit uses Sawzall to rob Oakdale convenience store

Surveillance cameras captured images of a man using a Sawzall to cut his way through the front glass door of DMs Oakdale Tobacco Convenience in Oakdale.

Before fleeing on a small red bicycle, the subject entered the store and took cash and tobacco products, Suffolk County Police said.

The suspect was wearing black and white Nike shoes, jeans, a black t-shirt, and a New York Yankees baseball cap. The incident occurred on Aug. 11 at 4580 Sunrise Service Road, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Fifth Squad detectives are asking the public for help identifying and locating the man. A cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
