Bellport’s bull continues his undefeated streak.
Alex “El Toro” Vargas improved to 12-0 Thursday night after defeating Argentina’s Sebastian Gabriel Chaves (5-3) by way of a unanimous decision.
The bout, held at The Paramount in Huntington, was part of Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing “Rockin’ Fights” series.
This was a quick turnaround for Vargas, who last fought in September.
He took the fight with two and half weeks’ notice. In that timeframe, he lost 30 pounds for the match.
“Say what you want about me,” he wrote on Instagram, “I will always come to fight, no matter what.”
Vargas is set to return to the ring at some point in 2022, he told GreaterPatchogue.
