Outstanding tickets? Pay them now in Patchogue for 50 percent off

|

Do you have an outstanding parking ticket in Patchogue Village?

You aren’t the only one.

Currently there are 6,000 unpaid tickets that were issued by village code enforcement since 2012, according to village officials.

For that reason, Patchogue Village on Monday night unanimously passed a new holiday amnesty program, which will allow people to pay off their tickets at a 50 percent discounted rate throughout the entire month of December.

“If you have an open ticket I suggest that you pay it at this time,” said deputy mayor Jack Krieger who introduced the program, which was suggested by Village Justice Patricia Romeo.

Tickets must be open in village justice court, as opposed to county court.

“This will take the ticket off your plate and also bring in revenue into the village,” said Krieger.
