Bunger Surf Shop, Babylon and Sayville
Locals say that Bunger Surf Shop has been around forever and so has Charlie Bunger, but it’s really been since 1962. Even though their major focus is on surfing and their Surf Classic and surf camps, they have been selling paddleboards and offering rentals and lessons for several years. During the summer, they also have a beach shack on Gilgo Beach so beach-goers can have access to boards as soon as they hit the sand. Bunger also repairs paddleboards, if you happen to hit something less fluid than water. There is also a location in Sayville where you can rent paddleboards and learn how to use them.
