Patchogue church to ring tower bell all Ash Wednesday in support of Ukraine

|

The Congregational Church of Patchogue is standing in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

Rev. Dwight Lee Wolter said on Ash Wednesday their 850-pound tower bell will ring every 6 seconds for 10 hours.

This is to show support with the Ukrainians who are being attacked by Russian forces.

There will also be an interfaith service at 7 p.m. at the church’s back door, he said.

“Bring a short prayer, poem or affirmation that you have written about Ukraine to be taped to the wall,” said Wolter.

The church is located at 95 E. Main St.
