Patchogue tops Niche’s 2025 rankings for young professionals in Suffolk

Patchogue is the best place for young professionals in Suffolk County, according to Niche.com’s newly released 2025 rankings.

The village earned an A+ grade in the young professionals category, bolstered by its nightlife, job opportunities and diversity.

Niche evaluated Suffolk communities based on such key factors as employment, affordability and social scene. The other nine communities in the county’s top 10 each earned an A grade for young professionals.

1. Patchogue

Grade for young professionals: A+
Overall Niche grade: B
Highlights: Vibrant nightlife, diverse community, waterfront access, easy access to Fire Island, and a strong sense of local pride.

2. Port Jefferson

Grade for young professionals: A
Overall Niche grade: A+
Highlights: Historic harbor village with shops, restaurants and convenient ferry access to Connecticut.

3. East Farmingdale

Overall Niche grade: A-
