Pecado Mexican eyes May launch in Bay Shore

|

Pecado Mexican is about a month away from opening on Bay Shore’s Main Street.

The team behind the Mexican-inspired restaurant made the announcement today on social media.

“The time has finally come to start hiring for the Pecado team!” reads a Facebook post from Pecado. “We’re looking to hire all positions for a May 2021 opening.”

In late 2020, GreaterBayShore caught up with Pecado Mexican owner Ian Coughlin on opening at the former Barn Door 49 at 49 West Main Street.

The Babylon native described the concept as “high-end authentic Mexican food in a casual atmosphere.”

Pecado will feature a bar stocked with over 200 tequilas and 50 Mezcals.

There’s also plans for Taco Tuesdays, Salsa Thursdays and brunch – complete with salsa lessons for customers to get up and move.

“There’s nothing else like it, even though there are other Mexican places around, we’re all different and I don’t see that as competition,” said Coughlin, a partner in Rockville Centre’s Mesita, “I see it as a complement — it brings more allure to town, more reasons to come to Bay Shore.”
