In a few weeks, the doors at 1150 Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon will swing open and customers will be able to buy soft, doughy pretzels.
That’s the plan for Long Island’s newest Philly Pretzel Factory, which plans to host a soft opening sometime in March, the owner told GreaterBabylon this week.
Joe Russo, an Islip resident, is launching the pretzel store in a former kickboxing school that is 1,200 square feet.
The New York City firefighter purchased into the franchise in 2014, and now runs a location in Massapequa Park and has the rights to open in Lindenhurst, Patchogue, and Islip.
Philly Pretzel Factory, which has over 100 franchise locations, mostly on the East Coast, has other Long Island spots not owned by Russo including in Franklin Square, Syosset, and Smithtown.
