Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater has a fresh look for 2024 after undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation.
The Long Island premier waterfront concert venue now boasts several upgrades:
- A 1930s-inspired Manhattan deco-style marquee that illuminates at night
- New merchandising area
- Additional bars and restaurants, including the Sunset Bar with Adirondack chairs and lawn games on an artificial grass area
- A new VIP club section with a rooftop bar called 40 Bay Club
- A VIP seating option featuring private tables for up to four people, with private bathrooms and waiter service
- 25% more bathrooms
Several thousand upper-level seats in the 14,500-seat amphitheater were also replaced over the five-year project, a joint venture by New York State and Live Nation. Previous renovations by Live Nation included the installation of 18-foot high digital boards, adding Taste NY food and drink options, and expanding concessions, as reported by Greater Long Island.
The iconic summer destination opened 70 years ago as the Jones Beach Marine Theater with about 8,200 seats. Besides music, it was once a premier venue for Broadway-style performances.
The first concertgoers to experience the new upgrades were those who attended the Outlaw Music Festival on June 29, featuring Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, and Lukas Nelson. Greater Long Island visited on July 10 for a tour during the Alanis Morissette show. Scroll down for a photo and video tour.
Upcoming shows for this year include Maroon 5, Post Malone, Pitbull and T-Pain, Jason Aldean, Chicago, and Earth, Wind and Fire. Tap here for the full lineup.
