Photos: Scenes from Babylon Village’s Spring Shop and Dine event

|

Babylon Village held its first outdoor spring in over a year on Saturday.

The event, the Babylon Village Spring Shop & Dine, allowed local restaurants and shops to expand their businesses onto Deer Park Avenue, which had parts of it closed for the evening.

Co-hosted by the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Babylon, the event happened from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In supporting local businesses, shoppers and diners who spent a minimum of $50 at participating stores and restaurants received a raffle ticket for a chance to win a huge #DiscoverBabylon gift basket, donated by village merchants.

Individual businesses offered specials and discounts during the event as well.

Among the long list of participating businesses was a new addition to the village, Argyle Toys — an online shop created by three Babylon Village moms who wanted to bring a little magic of a toy shop to the community.

The moms are currently on the hunt for the ideal storefront (the full story coming to GreaterBabylon soon) and were happy to get their name out there during the Spring Shop and Dine event.

“We’re getting so much support from the community and we really appreciate it,” said Madeline Lunz, owner of Argyle Toys.
