Photos: ‘The Pizzeria’ is now open in downtown Bay Shore

This rapidly-expanding pizza company has just gotten settled in Bay Shore in time for summer.

Brothers Paul and Dan Saccoccio and longtime friend Cliff Weinstein recently launched their fourth The Pizzeria location on the first floor of Eleven Maple, the 90-unit apartment complex being developed by Greenview Properties on the corner of Maple Avenue and Gibson Street.

The company, which has other co-owners, currently operates in Smith Haven Mall, which opened in October 2020; Bayport, which opened in December 2020; and Islip in the old Pizza Parm location at 591 Main St. The owners also informed GreaterBayShore they have a Lindenhurst location in the works too.

“The responses are great…people are coming in, trying some pizza, testing the bar, and enjoying cocktails, the new menu, different kinds of pasta, and appetizers,” Weinstein said.

The Pizzeria Bay Shore offers La Colombe coffee and Balthazar Bakery pastries in the morning, starting at 6:30 a.m. every day.

The team prides itself on selling quality traditional slices, while also getting experimental with their creations — like their Buffalo garlic knots, or their new fan-favorite vodka margarita slice.

The design of their Bay Shore location is made to mimic something you would see in Italy, the owners say.

“We’re aiming for an Italian cafe, like in Rome or Naples,” said Paul. “It’s a place that you can come by at any part of the day.”

“You come in and have pastries and coffee in the morning, and then come back for dinner and drinks.”

The Bay Shore The Pizzeria has the company’s largest outdoor seating area.

“We’re excited about Fire Island season, opening our doors, and having outdoor seating,” Weinstein said.
