Photos: The Post Office’s Race for MPS raises $32,000

|

This past Saturday marked the 30th annual Race for MPS hosted by the Post Office Café, and there were nearly 650 racers.

The race returned in-person to Babylon after going virtual in 2020.

Fundraising on the day totaled $32,000. All the proceeds go to the nonprofit MPS Society.

MPS, or Mucopolysaccharidoses, is an often fatal genetic disease in children which prevents the production of specific enzymes that help strengthen the body.

The race, which takes runners through the village to the docks and back, finishes at the Post Office where there is a big party.
