Plans in the works for Alive by the Bay in Bay Shore; here are the tentative dates

|

Plans are firmly in the works to bring Alive by the Bay back to the streets of downtown Bay Shore for the summer of 2022, GreaterBayShore has learned.

The popular summer street festival has been on pause the last two years due to the uncertainty caused by the pandemic.

Today the Bay Shore Restaurant Committee, which runs the series, announced publicly the details they have so far in bringing back Alive by the Bay.

Subject to town approvals, the committee has tentatively picked the following dates: June 28, July 12, July 26 and Aug. 16, all Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

As long as COVID stays at bay this summer and the event gets its approvals, the festival will be happening, Mike McElwee, a member of the committee, told GreaterBayShore this morning.

Each day would feature road closures on Main Street to make way for live music, street vendors and fun activities.

This is a developing story, make sure to check back at GreaterBayShore for more details. See the committee’s official flyer below. The event’s title sponsors are South Shore University Hospital and Teachers Federal Credit Union.
