Police nabbed a Deer Park man for allegedly impersonating a Department of Social Services (DSS) employee and forcibly touching a resident at a shelter in East Farmingdale.
Cops arrested Alfred Balcerak, 65, Friday night at his home on Wright Avenue at 8:17 p.m., charging him with forcible touching, third-degree sexual abuse, second-degree endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person, false impersonation and petit larceny.
Police said Balcerak pretended to be a DSS employee to successfully gain entry into the shelter facility on Sept. 6. Once inside, the suspect allegedly made sexual contact with a disabled resident. Balcerak also swiped personal items belonging to the resident, police said.
Balcerak was held in police custody overnight and was arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip. The case is being investigted by First Squad and Special Victims Section detectives.
