Police return Stormtrooper statue stolen from this Bay Shore store

|

This Stormtrooper has made his way home safely thanks to the Suffolk police.

Back on April 1, the three-foot-tall statue was snatched by two women outside of Blast From The Past, a Bay Shore retro video game store on Main Street.

“I sacrificed him out of my personal collection to help bring attention to my store,” said owner Rich McWilliams, who opened up the store with his wife Christina back in December.

After it was stolen, the heist quickly picked up traction and social media as well as by multiple news outlets, including ABC’s Channel 7 News.

The collector’s item, worth between $300-$400, was returned on Saturday.

Rich said tips from the community helped the police crack the case.

“We’ve been making jokes that he’s been out on the town for a few weeks,” said Rich. “Who knows what he’s seen?”
