Police in Suffolk County have issued separate missing persons reports in recent days for two teens in the Deer Park area.
Suffolk Police said tonight that one of the girls — a 14-year-old from Dix Hills reported missing Sunday after last being seen Saturday in Dix Hills — has been found safe this evening.
A New York state missing persons report for the girl had indicated earlier that she “may be in the local area.”
Another state missing persons report indicates that Makayla Mae Vincent, 16, has been missing since Wednesday, Jan. 24, in Deer Park. The Deer Park teen was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt and grey leggings, according to the report.
Makayla Mae has red hair and brown eyes, is 5-foot-10, and weighs 214 pounds, police said. The missing persons report also noted that Makayla Mae “may travel to Brooklyn or Manhattan” and that she is coping with medical conditions.
Makayla Mae is further described as having braces, according to Hope Alive 845 Inc, a nonprofit that provides support in missing children cases. The nonprofit also reported that Makayle Mae may be wearing a jean jacket or dark hoodie, and was last seen at Deer Park High School on Wednesday around class dismissal time in the afternoon.
