A liquor store in St. James sold a second-prize winning ticket that earned a $1 million in Monday night’s Powerball drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Liquorium, located at 430-04 North Country Road. It was the drawing’s only second-prize ticket purchased in New York.
The winning numbers drawn were 9, 30, 39, 49 and 59. The red Powerball selected was 21.
Powerball numbers are randomly drawn from a field of one to 69. The red Power Ball is drawn from a separate field of one to 26. The Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Earlier during the long holiday weekend, Ronak Cardland, located at 4593 Sunrise Highway in Bohemia, sold a top-prize winning ticket in the May 25 TAKE 5 evening drawing. The ticket is worth $11,714; the five numbers drawn were 4, 10, 11, 21 and 30.
