Ground elk, kangaroo, ostrich fillets, and alligator tenderloins are just some of the exotic meats available at Wild Fork Foods, which recently expanded to Long Island this year.
In May, the specialty meat and seafood butcher shop chain opened its first Suffolk County location in Lake Grove. The 4,500-square-foot store is found at Smith Haven Plaza at 2075 Moriches Road.

The chain also has two other Long Island locations. In April, a store opened at 603 Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead, followed by a third location in July at 409 S. Oyster Bay Road in Plainview.
Founded about five years ago, Wild Fork Foods now operates more than 40 locations across the nation, with stores in states such as Florida, Texas, Illinois, Wisconsin, California, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. The company specializes in frozen meat and seafood, offering both traditional staples and exotic options, as well as fruits, vegetables, and prepared foods.
Wild Fork offers over 450 meat and seafood items, in addition to a wide variety of traditional cuts familiar to the American diet. The retailer sources its products from farms across the country, using a blast-freezing process to lock in freshness. Customers can also shop online for delivery or pickup.
