Premiere Pastry opens a second location in Stony Brook Village

|

Stony Brook has a new bakery to call its own.

Earlier this month, St. James’ popular Premiere Pastry Shop opened its second location in the Stony Brook Village Center at 117 Main Street—the space that last housed Crabtree & Evelyn lotion shop.

“It’s a wonderful and very friendly town,” said Premiere’s co-owner Angela Kaziris, who runs the stores with her husband, Nick, and children Chris and Ariti.

“Everybody has been very receptive and welcoming,” added Angela smiling.

The Mount Sinai family opened their first location in St. James over a decade ago, after Nick, a career baker, left his job to start the new venture.

“We always wanted to open up our own buisness,”said Angela. “[Nick] is very creative and does great work.”

And, now, the family says coming to the North Shore is perfect timing.

“The village center approached us right as we were ready to expand,” said Angela.

Premiere Pastry Shop specializes in Greek, French, and Italian pastries.

According to the family, one of the fan favorites is their speciality cheesecakes.

“We have a tremendous variety,” said Angela.  “They are creamy and light.”

Some of the flavors include fresh fruit, apple crumb, Oreo, and chocolate. The shop also takes special requests.

Other specialities include cannoli, cupcakes, wedding cakes, cream puffs, along with a large selection of fresh breads.

The Kazirises will be selling similiar products in both locations, however, there will be more of a focus on to-go items in Stony Brook.

“It’s very walkable here in Stony Brook,” said Angela. “People want to grab a treat and keep moving.”

Premiere Pastry Shop’s hours are from Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
