After more than six years in the community, Primehouse in Garden City is saying goodbye.
The staff will be serving its last meal in January.
“As we prepare for our final chapter in Garden City, our focus is on giving the community the same exceptional hospitality and quality dining experience we’ve been known for since day one,” ownership said in a statement. “We look forward to celebrating the holidays with our guests and thanking them for over six incredible years of support.”
The restaurant at 910 Franklin Ave. is not only known for its steaks, sushi and homemade desserts, but also its lively happy hour and atmosphere.
“It was a great go to steakhouse in town which Garden City always needed,” resident Rich Carpentier told Greater Long Island. “It’s gonna be sorely missed.”

To thank its customers, Primehouse is offering a Midweek Farewell Promotion as it winds down.
The special features a $69 prix fixe Steak & Sushi Menu, offered Monday through Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The restaurant describes it as a chance for guests to enjoy some of its most beloved dishes before its final season comes to an end.
Management is also encouraging guests to make reservations early.
Chef-owner is Art Gustafson also owns Chadwick’s and Salsa Mexicana in Rockville Centre.
