Rain is expected throughout Monday and the weather has forced the cancellation of Memorial Day parades across Long Island.
Locally, the parade and remembrances in Bay Shore and Brightwaters have been called off, according to Brightwaters Village officials.
The Islip parade has been cancelled.
There will be a noon ceremony at the American Legion Rusy Bohm Post 411 at 39 Nassau Avenue in Islip, according to the Legion’s Facebook page (see below).
