Raising Cane’s is officially making a move into Commack.
The fast-growing national chain — known for its chicken finger meals and signature Cane’s Sauce — is targeting 2 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway for its next restaurant, taking over the former McDonald’s site.
According to a representative for the company, the opening is pending permitting and local approvals, with a projected debut in late 2026.
“Pending city permitting and approval, Raising Cane’s is aiming to bring our ONE LOVE® – Craveable Chicken Finger Meals® – to Commack, NY at 2 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway in late 2026,” the representative confirmed.
Raising Cane’s has been eyeing Long Island since 2024, with active plans in Carle Place and a newly targeted site in Farmingdale, where Houlihan’s currently operates.
The Commack announcement marks the latest step in the brand’s aggressive Tri-State expansion — one that CEO and founder Todd Graves previewed during the company’s Times Square flagship opening last year.

In June 2024, while celebrating Cane’s massive Times Square debut, Graves told Greater Long Island that the company planned to open “hundreds” of restaurants across New York State, with a heavy emphasis on the downstate region.
At the time, Cane’s hoped to have three Long Island locations open by 2025 — an ambitious timeline that has since shifted, but the expansion remains steady.
Founded in 1996 at Louisiana State University, Raising Cane’s has grown into a global brand with around 800 restaurants across the U.S. and abroad, known for its simple menu of chicken fingers, Texas toast, crinkle-cut fries and its iconic Cane’s Sauce.
The Commack location, if approved, will be one of the first Suffolk County sites announced publicly.
