A brand-new RH Outlet — the discount retailer for the company known as Restoration Hardware — is eyeing an opening date for its new Commack gallery next month.
Occupying part of the space previously held by a Target store that closed in 2019, RH is looking to open in late March.
The targeted grand opening date is March 27, Greater Long Island has learned.
The Town of Smithtown last year approved plans for the RH Outlet at 4 Henry St., which is in the sprawling Commack South Shopping Center.
The outlet will cover nearly 41,000 square feet, according to reports.
RH’s expansion to Commack aligns with its strategy to offer discounted merchandise through its RH Outlet stores, which primarily sell returned, discontinued and overstocked items outside of RH’s core sales channels.
RH operates 38 such outlets across the U.S., Canada and Europe, including one in Tanger Outlets in Riverhead.
There’s also an RH gallery store in East Hampton.
Founded as Restoration Hardware in 1979 in California, the retailer rebranded as RH in 2012.
In addition to its outlet stores, the retailer counts 71 RH Galleries and has other ventures, such as the RH Guesthouse in Manhattan (pictured below) and Waterworks Showrooms for bath and kitchen products.
