Holy guacamole – RHUM is about to turn one!

So, let’s taco ‘bout a party for a purpose. Help RHUM celebrate its one-year anniversary on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., by also helping to raise money to rebuild Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

“While some time has passed since the destructive winds and rains of Hurricane Maria, and we’re apt to start forgetting about this year’s horrific storms to hit the Caribbean, the rebuild is just now beginning. And nowhere is that felt more than in Puerto Rico, and in the small town of Adjuntas, at the center of the devastation,” said David Hersh, owner of RHUM Restaurant (part of the Rooted Hospitality Group).

So, as the first anniversary of RHUM began to approach, the team at RHUM immediately knew it wanted to throw a party – but not just any party – instead, a “party for a purpose” in order to not only celebrate and be appreciative for these past 12 months, but to also use the occasion to do what is at the very core of Rooted Hospitality Group, the entity that runs RHUM. Spotlight a community in need and help raise much needed funds.

Hersh explains, “the roots of RHUM, and RUMBA before it, are firmly in the Islands. Island inspired at heart, our restaurants are born out of a love of great food and the feeling of an island getaway – that indescribable feeling of a sun-warmed island with soft sand under your feet and a cool breeze blowing through your hair while enjoying a tasty meal and fun drinks. To a lot of us, that feels a lot like the island of Puerto Rico.”

Guests are invited to purchase tickets and celebrate with all-you-can-enjoy tacos and familiar menu favorites, along with an open bar featuring mojitos, margaritas, rum punch, RHUM’s very own craft beer, One Love Lager, live music, dancing, special guests, and so much more – most importantly, an auction with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Family Christian Academy in Adjuntas, as well as the American Red Cross Chapter of Puerto Rico.

Tickets are sold online and are only $50 each if you buy now, with a portion of your ticket price going directly to those affected by Hurricane Maria.

We are limiting the number of tickets sold, so please buy them before they sell out! If we have remaining tickets, they will be sold at the door for $75 each.

Tickets must be purchased for the event and can be found here: https://rhumturnsone.eventbrite.com. Companies interested in donating for the auction can email marketing@rootedhg.com for more details.
