A Ridge man was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman in Moriches a day earlier, Suffolk County police said, police said Saturday morning.
James Quininchetta, 40, was taken into custody at the Seventh Precinct and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 33-year-old Rebecca Roth, authorities said. The suspect, who lives on Independence Court, is expected to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.
Police said Roth was found shot to death inside a Hyundai Elantra in the parking lot of Tall Oaks Apartments, located at 63-10 Long Tree Lane, about 8:20 a.m. Friday. Her mother called 911 after discovering her body.
Roth was pronounced dead at the scene.
