Riverhead Brew House is changing hands after just over a year on the Peconic River.
Lily Flanagan’s Restaurant Group (LFRG), which opened the riverfront brewery in spring of 2024, announced Monday it has sold the business to Dr. Richard Hamburg, a Long Island otolaryngologist. His plans for the space have not yet been announced, but the Brew House will remain open and operating during the transition.
“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our amazing staff, loyal customers, and the community that helped make Riverhead Brew House such a special place over the last couple of years. It’s been an incredible journey,” said Niall Crowe, founder of the Lily Flanagan’s Restaurant Group.
“We’re especially excited to see what Dr. Hamburg brings to the Brew House. With his vision and energy, we expect nothing but great things ahead! While we pass the torch, this isn’t goodbye — LFRG plans to continue selling Riverhead Brew House beers at our venues for the time being. The legacy of RBH lives on, and we’re proud to keep sharing it with our guests. Watch for new things in the future.”

LFRG took over the former Peconic County Brewing space in the winter of 2023 and completed a full renovation before opening Riverhead Brew House in April 2024. The upgrades included a new bar and kitchen, upgraded brewing equipment, a resurfaced patio, and all-new furniture — creating a cozier, year-round destination.
It quickly became the only riverfront brewery on Long Island, serving craft beer, cocktails and a full American-style menu.
Riverhead Brew House is located at 221 E. Main St., on the ground floor of a new apartment building but facing the Peconic River.
LFRG operates Lily Flanagan’s Pub, The Villager, The Local and The Argyle in Babylon; The Wharf and Oakdale Brew House in Oakdale; and The Villager in Farmingdale.
