The Patchogue couple that opened the Mugs on Main coffee shop last year in downtown Riverhead is evolving their concept.
To do so, they’ve added highballs, coupe and martini glasses to their mug collection.
And the necessary liquor license came in just in time for the season. So this Friday, May 17, Mugs on Main will be relaunching as not just a coffee and brunch shop, but also a restaurant and cocktail lounge.
“We have been a coffee shop owner by myself and wife Kasandra for just over a year,” said owner Jeff Schaeffer. “We have decided to expand our offering by launching a trendy dinner menu and some really exciting cocktails. Highlights will be our freshly made espresso martinis topped with cold foam, our cinnamon espresso old fashioned and our mezcal negroni.”

The dinner menu leans heavily into comfort food, with flat bread pizzas, four different pot pies, and supper entrées such as Mom’s Meatloaf (18), the Double Patty Burger (16) and a Half Roasted Chicken (20), among others. Scroll down for the full Mugs on Main menu.
The first night of the “new” Mugs on Main is set for Friday, May 17, after which dinner and cocktails will be available every Thursday through Sunday nights starting at 5 p.m., the owners said.
The shop was previously only open in the daytime.
Bottomless mimosas will also be on the offering on Saturdays and Sundays until 2 p.m.
“There’s going to be lots of cool new stuff,” Schaeffer said.
