The Long Island Rail Road’s Pine Street grade crossing in East Moriches will be closed from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today as the agency repaves the crossing.
According to a Town of Brookhaven press release, the grade crossing, which is on the LIRR’s Montauk branch, is in response to community concerns and ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
Vehicles must use Montauk Highway (county road Route 80) as an alternative while the work is in progress. The LIRR and MTA Police will be on site to facilitate safe traffic control.
