Roast Sandwich House in Babylon set to open May 19

|

Roast Sandwich House will officially open its doors in Babylon Village on Monday, marking the sixth location for the Long Island-born fast-casual chain.

Founded by Hicksville native and culinary school grad Joseph Cordaro, Roast is known for its chef-driven sandwiches made with house-roasted meats, scratch-made condiments and high-quality ingredients.

The new shop, located at 114 Deer Park Ave., takes over the former Babylon Bagel space.

“I’ve always wanted to open in a village, and Babylon was a perfect fit,” Cordaro said previously. “One of my investors lives and works in the area and really pushed for it. It felt like the right move.”

The Roast brand launched in Melville in 2011 and has since expanded to Hicksville, Mineola, Syosset and Bellmore.

Walkable downtown location

The Babylon shop is Roast’s first in a walkable downtown. Inside, guests will find custom maple counters with quartz tops, detailed tile work and an industrial-chic aesthetic with exposed ductwork and track lighting.

Roast’s menu features signature sandwiches, soups, salads and sides, all made to order with certified angus beef, antibiotic-free poultry and fresh produce, Cordaro said.
