Bay Shore’s rock ‘n’ roll-themed hot dog restaurant has officially closed down.
The owners of Rock City Dogs, which opened in 2021 at 3 East Main Street, announced the closure on Monday.
“It has been an incredible five-year journey, but it is time to move on to a new chapter in our lives,” reads a post on Instagram. “We wish to thank our loyal patrons for making it all possible.”
The concept was the brainchild of lifelong rocker Stevie Reno, who completely transformed a former dentist’s office into a 1970s classic rock and craft hot dog mecca.
There was always rock ‘n’ roll in the air, with playlists that were a combination of familiar hits and deep cuts — all curated by Reno.
The idea of dining at Rock City Dogs was meant to feel like a “show,” Reno previously told Greater Long Island. Reno told Newsday it was “a great concept in the wrong location.”
In his closure announcement, Reno said he will be part of a team that is bringing a whole new concept to the space. Stay tuned with greaterlongisland.com for more details.
